Plastic brick pallet vs. wood brick pallet

What is a brick pallet?

A brick pallet has 500 bricks and covers an area of 10 square meters. The number of pieces and cubes of red facing and single brick in 1 pallet depends on the method of installation and the size of the pallet itself. Universal calculation formulas to calculate the number of pieces and cubes of red facing and single brick in one pallet works if the following two variables are known –

  1. Method of installation of bricks,

Types of brick pallet-

There is a lot of diversity in varieties of single bricks used in a single pallet. Some of them are as follows –

Red –

It is made from natural clay, by molding with kilning in the furnace. This brick comprises characteristics of excellent strength, light-weight (approx 3.6 kg), and resistance to external weathering. The dimensions of this brick piece are 215x12x6.5 cm.

White –

It is made from silicate from quartz sand. The mass of this sand reaches 90% of the total volume. It also contains lime and various other additives. The manufacturing of this brick takes place by dry pressing with the subsequent processing of raw materials in an autoclave under steam exposure. It has the characteristic of high strength, and hence it turns out to be an attractive choice for decoration and cladding. But when the white brick is heated above 200 degrees Celsius, it will burst.

Chamotte. 

This finely crushed chamotte, along with special graded clay, is used for laying out stoves, fireplaces, chimneys. This type of brick is available in several of the most popular size ranges. It can be transported on platforms of various sizes depending on the brand.

Facing. 

It is available in a hollow version, along with a different pattern of grooves. The dimensions of this type of brick are 250x90x50 mm.

PLASTIC BRICK PALLET

Plastic brick pallets are in a rectangular form. The materials used by plastic pallet manufacturers are plastic and aluminum. It has a standard dimension of 12x18x21x25 mm.

But most people have the question whether the wood pallets are safe to use? I’ll explain if wood pallets are safe to use.

In the past times to make pallets last longer, chemicals were used. But at present, chemicals are now used to extend the durability of pallets. And now they are not harmful to use because chemicals affect our lung capacity.

People who are planning to build wood pallets at home are advised to use safety glasses to protect their eyes, a quality respirator to protect the lungs, and use work gloves to safeguard their hands.

Concerning the use of wood brick pallets, another question arises: if pallets are safe to use after recycling?

WOOD BRICK PALLET-

The notion is that wood is a natural product and can be reused, and to an extent, it is true. But often, that pallet wood can be contaminated with toxic chemicals, harmful bacteria, and other bad stuff you certainly do not want in your home or around your family. So it’s better to consider where the wood pallet is coming from and how reliable the source is.

Usually, before reusing, the manufacturers treat the pallet with heat to kill any sort of bacteria or whatsoever.

Just cleansing the pallet with hot water or bleach or soap water does not turn out to be effective because the woods are porous, and it is not possible to clean it through these means.

Hence, experts recommend knowing the origin place or the source of the wood pallet first before reusing it.

There are various types of wood pallets, and the price differs according to the brand, material, and demand of the pallet.

USAGE OF WOODEN PALLET-

If you want to redecorate your house or office and have a niche in creativity, you can use wooden pallets in the following way –

  • To make a coffee table
  • To arrange a standing garden
  • You can make a bookshelf out of it.
  • It can be used for making a shoe rack.
  • A swing can be made using a wooden pallet.
  • A wine bar can be made from it.
  •  Wooden pallets can be used as lantern pallets.
  • It can be used for wall art by painting the pallet.
  • With the use of extra padding, an Ottoman can be made from a pallet.

The plastic brick pallets and wood brick pallets have a different manufacturing process, usage and price systems. Hence, both have distinguished importance depending on the nature of utility
